In most cases, the officer makes a decision after you leave. He/She may need more information or more time to review your file.
If you do not pass the Civic or English part of the test, USCIS will send you a Notice and give another interview within 60-90 days of the first one. If you do not pass the second time, USCIS will deny your application.
Citizenship Ceremony
If USCIS approves your application, they will ask you to go to an Oath Ceremony. The ceremony is when you - along with many other applicants - will become a U.S. citizen. You are not U.S. citizen until you finish the ceremony.

- able to prove continuous residence in the United States for at least five years and physical presence in the United States for a total of at least 30 months within that five-year period;

- a person of good moral character.

- A check or money order for the application fee and fingerprinting and photos (biometrics). Payable to U.S. Department of Homenlad Security. Amount: $ 725 (if you are under 75) or $640 (if you are 75 or older).

The Interview
USCIS will ask you questions about:
- Your family and personal history
- Your application (Review your application before the interview)
USCIS will test you on:
- U.S. Civics: There will be 10 questions, and you must get 6 correct answer to pass.
- English: You will be asked to read and write one sentence in English. The officer will verify if you can speak basic English.
- Speaking: Your ability to speak English will be determined by your conversational skills throughout the interview.
